I'm very delighted to attend this wonderful 21st Chinese Bridge- Chinese Proficiency Preliminary Competition for Foreign College Students,to witness Australian University Students' excellent performance on learning Chinese.Language is not only a tool of communication, but also a carrier of culture. Learning Chinese would help us understand "harmony without uniformity",the core ideology of Chinese civilization.The learning of the Chinese language is very popular in Australia.Many Australians could speak excellent and fluent Chinese.

Both the Chinese and the Australian are great peoples.The mutual respects and win-win exchanges and cooperation in economy,trade,sci-tech,education,tourism, etc,accord with the fundamental interests and common aspiration of the two countries.This year marks the 50th anniversary of the establishment of our diplomatic relations, the brighter future of China-Australia relations is in the hands of such young people as all of you here.I hope all the contestants will act as bridges of friendship between our two countries and two peoples,and do your utmost to further promote our bilateral relations in various fields.

The Speaking Competition theme of "One World,One Family" conforms to the development trend of highly interdependent countries in today's world.By the end of 2021, more than 25 million foreigners among over 180 countries and regions are studying Chinese language,of which 76 countries have included Chinese programs in their national curriculum,and about 400 million people in China are learning English meanwhile. The world is just like one big family, we should stick together,share weal and woe,endeavor to build our world into a single harmonious family and a community with a shared future for mankind.
