“Together for a Shared Future”- Short Video Contest Celebrating the 50th Anniversary of the Establishment of China-Australia Diplomatic Relations by the Chinese Consulate General in Perth

This 21 December marks the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the People’s Republic of China and the Commonwealth of Australia. The establishment of diplomatic relations in 1972 is a turning point in our bilateral relationship and has paved the way for the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership we have today.

To commemorate the 50th anniversary of the establishment of our diplomatic ties, the Chinese Consulate General in Perth is hosting a short video contest: Together for a Shared Future. Anyone living, working or studying in Western Australia aged 18 years and above are warmly welcome to submit your video work to express your experiences, appreciation and good wishes to China-Australia friendship. Submission opens from 2 August to 30 September, 2022.

Video submissions should be closely aligned with the theme of this contest, which is celebrating friendship between China and Australia and video submissions shall not contain discriminative, pornographic or violent content. There are no requirements for the form or genre of the submissions, and professional or phone filming are both acceptable.

The video submissions should be 1-5 minutes long, in MP4 format, with image resolution 1080p or above and a size less than 2GB. Both vertical and horizontal videos are eligible, and both Chinese and English language applicable. Bilingual subtitles are preferable.

Together for a Shared Future short video contest designates 1 First Prize winner (1500AUD), 2 Second Prize winners (1000AUD per award), 3 Third Prize winners (800AUD per award) and 10 special awards (200AUD per award). Each winner will also be awarded a certificate.

The Chinese Consulate General in Perth will exhibit outstanding works on our WeChat and Facebook accounts and will introduce those works to key Chinese media such as Xinhua News Agency, China Central Television and People’s Daily etc.

All entries must be original, and plagiarism is strictly prohibited. The copyright belongs to the participants, the Chinese Consulate General in Perth has the right to use the entries for public display or for other non-commercial purposes without additional remuneration. The Consulate General will not undertake any legal liability arising from (but not limited to) disputes over portraiture rights, reputation rights, privacy rights, copyrights, trademark rights etc. In case of any disputes mentioned above, all responsibilities shall be assumed by the participants and the Consulate General has the right to cancel their qualification and recall their reward. In case of any loss caused by disputes, the Consulate General has the right to claim compensation from the participants.
