On March 28, 2025, Wang Fengzhong, Deputy Consul General of the Chinese Consulate-General in Perth, attended and delivered a speech at the 15th anniversary celebration of the founding of the Western Australia Zhejiang Association and the 38th anniversary of the establishiment of WA-Zhejiang sister-state relationship. Nearly 200 guests joined the event, including Mr. Geoff Baker MLA, representative of the WA Premier and Minister for Multicultural Affairs, as well as Ms.Lucia Chen, the President of WA Zhejiang Association.
Deputy CG Wang stated that since Zhejiang Province and WA officially established sister-state relationship, both sides have continuously deepened mutual understanding and strengthened cooperation, achieving fruitful results in trade, education, energy and mining, cultural exchanges and other fields. He emphasized that there is vast potential for future collaboration between the two sides. The Zhejiang Association has played an active role in promoting friendly relations, advancing economic and trade cooperation, and serving the overseas Chinese community. He expressed his hope that the association will continue its efforts and achieve even greater success.
Baker and Lucia stated that the Zhejiang Association has been committed to promoting economic, trade, and cultural exchanges between Zhejiang and WA, playing a unique role in supporting local multicultural development. Lucia emphasized that the association will continue to uphold its founding spirit and make unremitting efforts to contribute to the development of China-Australia relations.
