On 10 May 2017, Chinese Consul-General Lei kezhong met with Hon Bill Johnston , Minister for Mines and Petroleum; Commerce and Industrial Relations; Electoral Affairs; Asian Engagement of Western Australia. The two sides exchanged views on Sino-Western Australian relations and bilateral cooperation on energy and mineral resources.
