Members of the Women's Association of Chinese Consulate General Visit Home for the Aged in Perth

On May 14, Mother's Day , members of the Women's Association of the Chinese Consulate General in Perth headed by Ms Xing Chao, wife of Consul-General Lei Kezhong, visited Little Sisters of the Poor, expressing their Mother's Day wishes to the elderly men and women.

Head of the home for the aged warmly welcomed Ms Xing Chao and her entourage, who had a cordial talk with the elderly people about their daily life and presented the elderly with chocolates and stuff of daily use. The elderly people were deeply moved and expressed their gratitude to Ms Xing Chao for her visit and their appreciation to the Women's Association of the Chinese Consulate General for its love and care for the elderly. The kids accompanying the group sang songs for the elderly and touched every one at the home for the aged. The corridors and rooms were filled with warmth and happiness.

Little Sisters of the Poor is located at about 6 kilometers northwest of Perth CBD. It is funded by government allocation and social donations. At present, there are 43 aged people who are supported by a dedicated team of about 70 volunteers.
