Members of the Women's Association of the Chinese Consulate General Visit Oberthur Primary School

On 29 May 2017,members of the Women's Association of the Chinese Consulate General in Perth headed by Madame Xing Chao, wife of Consul-General Lei Kezhong, visited Oberthur Primary School on the occasion of International Children's Day. Madame Xing Chao and her entourage received a warm welcome from Mr Tim Bamber, the Principal, as well as teachers and students of the school.

In her speech, Madam Xing Chao spoke highly of the school's successful "Chinese Immersion Program" and appreciated the efforts made by the school in promoting Chinese language teaching and enhancing cultural exchanges between China and Western Australia. She said that China has 5000 years of history and profound culture. She encouraged the students to learn Chinese well so as to understand China better and contribute to the friendship between China and Australia when they grow up. She also welcomed the students to visit the Chinese Consulate .

Madame Xing Chao donated some Chinese books, stationery and footballs to the students on behalf of Chinese Consulate General  and sent her International Children's Day wishes. The students gave song and dance and musical instrument performances in reciprocation.

Madame Xing also visited the library and Immersive Chinese Teaching classes and chatted with the students.

This is the second time the Women's Association of the Chinese Consulate General in Perth visited a local school and spent the International Children's Day together with Western Australian students since 2016.
