Consul General Dong Zhihua Met with Minister for Mines and Petroleum;Energy;Industrial Relations of Western Australia

On July 11th, Consul General Dong Zhihua met with Hon.Bill Johnston MLA, Minister for Mines and Petroleum;Energy;Industrial Relations of Western Australia at the Dumas House.

 

Minister Johnston congratulated Madam Dong on her assumption of the new position, and briefed her on the general landscape of China's investment in WA energy and resource sectors with focus on iron ore, lithium and natural gas. He spoke positively of the WA-China cooperation and emphasized that WA government is firmly committed to safeguarding jobs and welcomes long term investment from China. WA government will continue providing support to Chinese enterprises operating in WA and protecting their legitimate interests.

Consul General Dong appreciated the efforts made by WA government in actively promoting China-WA cooperation in energy and resource sectors. She stressed that Chinese companies have made tremendous contributions to WA by increasing the State revenue and creating jobs, and they have also diligently fulfilled their social responsibilities. It is highly expected that WA government continue rendering support to Chinese enterprises and sustain a benign business environment.

Both sides agree to further expand and deepen bilateral practical cooperation.

Deputy Consul General Madam Jin Qian, Consul Yu Xiaoli attended the meeting.
