Consul General Dong Zhihua Met with Mr Michael Carter, Manager of International Trade & Investment Center, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Western Australia (CCIWA)

On July 10th, Consul General Dong Zhihua met with Mr. Michael Carter, Manager of International Trade & Investment Center, CCIWA and Mr. Nilesh Makwana, Chair and Founder of West Tech Assemblage at her Residence.

Mr. Carter welcomed the assumption of office of Consul General Dong and introduced that as a non-profitable organization, CCIWA has over 9000 member enterprises and issues Certificate of Origin (COO) to 80 percent of WA's export products. In the year of 2018 alone, CCIWA has released COOs to about 25 thousand different merchandise sold to China. WA business community highly values Chinese market and reckons the China-Australia Free Trade Agreement as a supreme instrument to boost trade and economic cooperation. CCIWA looks forward to deepening cooperation with China and hopes China expand its investment in WA especially in agriculture sector. Mr. Nilesh Makwana, Chair and Founder of West Tech Assemblage also briefed Consul General Dong about the preparatory work for the 5th West Tech Assemblage to be hosted in Perth at the end of 2019.

Consul General Dong thanked CCIWA for its long lasting support to China-WA economic and trade cooperation and China-WA friendship. She applauded the solid foundation of China-WA pragmatic exchanges and cooperation and appreciated the great importance WA government and the business community attaches to China. The Consulate General in Perth is willing to cooperate with the CCIWA to update WA business community and SMEs in a timely manner with latest Chinese policies and measures in deepening reform and opening up and actively match their needs with Chinese enterprises so as to further promote bilateral investment and trade.

Consul Lyu Ruihao, Consul Xu Bin and Consul Xu Haohuang attended the meeting.
