On 14 March, 2026, Chinese Consul General in Perth Ms. Fu Lihua attended  the 10th Anniversary Celebration of the WA Xinjiang Association themedXinjiang&WA: Build a Future beyond Limits, together with Dr. Jagdish Krishnan, MLA, Mr. Frank Paolino, MLA, Mr. Basil Zempilas, Leader of the Opposition, Mr. Bruce Reynolds, Lord Mayor of the City of Perth, Mr. Logan Howlett, Mayor of the City of Cockburn, Mr. Zhang Xinmao, President of WA Xinjiang Association and representatives from local Chinese community of over 400 people joined the Celebration.

Consul General Fu congratulated the Association on the success of the celebration, introduced the historic achievements of Xinjiang’s economic and social development and new opportunity, and commended WA Xinjiang Association for its long-term diligence, striving and sense of responsibility in connecting Xinjiang and WA. Ms. Fu also encouraged WA Xinjiang Chinese community to continue with solidarity, mutual assistance and love for motherland and hometown, and telling genuine and engaging stories about Xinjiang, and thus playing active parts in promoting mutual-understanding and pragmatic cooperation between China-WA.

Dr. Krishnan, Mr. Paolino, Mr. Zempilas, Mr. Logan Howlett and others praised the contributions of Chinese community to WA social progress and the important role Chinese culture plays in WA multiculturalism.
