On March 17, 2026, Consul-General Fu Lihua attended thecelebration of Guangzhou-Perth year-round direct flights, jointly hosted by Perth Airport, China Southern Airlines and Tourism Western Australia. The event was attended by nearly 100 representatives from all walks of life, including Hon Reece Whitby MLA, Minister for Tourism, Ms Kate Holsgrove, Perth Airport Chief Commercial and AviationOfficer and Mr Jason Sun, China Southern AirlinesRegional General Manager.

Consul-General Fu congratulated China Southern Airlines and Perth Airport on the resumption of the year-round direct flights between Guangzhou and Perth, stating that China and Western Australia maintain close exchanges and cooperation in trade, science, education, cultureand tourism,and the implementation of  China's 15th Five-Year Plan over the next five years would bring more opportunities for exchanges and cooperation between China and Western Australia. She also expressed her optimism for the promising prospects for the year-round Guangzhou-Perth direct flights which are of significant importance for both sides. She reaffirmed that the ConsulateGeneral would continue to provide support and facilitation for exchanges and cooperation between China and Western Australia.

Minister Whitby emphasized the importance of Western Australia-China relations, stating that the direct flights would strongly promote connectivity and deepen exchanges and cooperation between Western Australia and China.
