The Consulate General of China in Perth Holds “Youth Talk on Diplomacy” Symposium

On 18March, 2026, the Consulate General of China in Perth, in collaboration with the WA Branch of the Australian Institute of International Affairs (AIIA), held “Youth Talk on Diplomacy” symposium. Consul General Fu Lihua attended and delivered a speech. Natasha Hart, Deputy Director of DFAT WA State Office, Brendan Augustin, President of AIIA WA, Oliver Bodewes, AIIA WA Secretary, Mackenzie Lang, National President of Australia-China Youth Association and over60 young professionals were present.

Consul General Fuexplained the purposes and principles of China’s diplomacy and introduced China’s Two Sessions. She encouraged  young people to leverage their professional strengths and innovative spirit to promote China-Australia cooperation and improve global governance. Mr. Bodewes and Mr. Lang noted that the youth of both nations should strengthen exchanges and build mutual understanding and trust, contributing to the development of China–Australia relations.

Young diplomats from the Consulate General shared their insights on The 15th Five-Year Plan, China-Australia People-to-People Exchanges and China’s Opening up. The event was lively, full of enthusiastic interaction and active discussions.
