On 25 April,2026, Consul General Fu Lihua met with the representatives of the Chinese WWⅠ and WWⅡ Defense Force descendants who participated in the ANZAC Day parade in Perth,headed by Ms. Cai Qiulan. Deputy Consul General Wang Fengzhong was present.

Consul General Fu commended the contribution of the Chinese WWⅠ and WWⅡ DefenseForce Descendants in Perth in telling the story of China’s War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and promoting the understanding of WWⅡ history. Fu stated that the Chinese People’s War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression is an important component of the World Anti-Fascist war, Taiwan’s Restorationto China is a victorious outcome of WWⅡ and an integral part of the post-war international order, and the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation is a shared aspiration of compatriots on both side of the Taiwan Strait. Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the Communist Party of China(CPC) Central Committee, recently put forward 4 proposals when meeting with Cheng Li-wun, Chairwoman of the Chinese Kuomintang(KMT) party in Beijing, setting the direction for advancing cross-strait relations.

Representatives of the veterans’descendants shared heroic stories of their forebears’ participation in the war of resistance, expressed the feelings of being proud of China’s prosperity and strength, saying that they are committed to telling the true history of China’s War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, enhancing friendship and mutual understanding between Western Australia and China, and promoting world peace.
