Consul General Fu Lihua Visits the Marshall Center at the University of Western Australia

On April 29, 2026, Consul General Fu Lihua, accompanied by Consul Liu Guannan, visited the Marshall Center at the University of Western Australia.

Consul General Fu introduced China’s international science and technology cooperation initiatives, emphasizing that during the “15th Five-Year Plan” period, China will further strengthen research and development of technologies for the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of infectious diseases, with a focus on building emerging pillar industries such as biomedicine. She expressed the hope that the Marshall Center will further leverage its strengths, expand cooperation and personnel exchanges with China, promote the mutual sharing of research outcomes, and jointly contribute to the building of a global community of health for all.

Professor Charlene Kahler, Director of the Marshall Center, stated that the center will utilize its advantages, focus on areas such as infectious disease prevention, control research and training, and actively deepen and expand cooperation with China. Professor Mark Nicol, Deputy Director of the center, and Dr. Alfred Tay, among others, provided an overview of the center’s cooperation with China.
