Her Excellency Kerry Sanderson, Governor of Western Australia Visits Chinese Consulate General in Perth

On 13 July 2016, Her Excellency Kerry Sanderson, Governor of Western Australia and her son Mr Jason Sanderson visited Chinese Consulate General at the invitation of Consul-General Lei Kezhong and his wife Mrs Xing Chao.

Governor Sanderson Visits Chinese Consulate General at the invitation of Consul-General Lei 

Consul-General Lei congratulated the Governor on her being appointed Companion of the Order of Australia in June and he also expressed his appreciation to the Governor for contributing to promoting the friendly relations between China and Western Australia. Consul-General Lei said that the Chinese Government gives high priority to developing friendly ties and cooperation with Western Australia. The Consulate General is ready to work with Western Australia by giving full play to each others’ complimentary advantages, and tapping cooperation potentials in an effort to boost bilateral cooperation .

Governor Sanderson thanked Consul-General Lei and Mrs Xing for their hospitality and recalled with pleasure her experience in China when she was the CEO of Frementle, saying that China’s economic growth has left her a deep impression. She also said that in recent years, Western Australia-China ties have become increasingly closer with friendship getting increasingly deeper. She also expressed the hope that the two sides will continue to maintain the cooperation momentum by enhancing scientific and technological cooperation and people-to-people exchanges .
