Ladies and Gentlemen,

Good evening! It is my great pleasure to attend tonight’s show to enjoy the Chinese artistic performances on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the establishment of Australian Mulan Culture and Arts Association.

Congratulations President Zhou Wei, thanks to your selfless devotion and strong leadership, Mulan Association has grown from strength to strength during the past 2 decades and become well recognized for performing Chinese arts in Western Australia. My best regards also go to all the members of Mulan, your dedication and hard work have enriched the lives of the Chinese communities, contributed to WA’s multiculturalism and facilitated the cultural exchanges between China and Australia.

I am happy to see that artists from different cultural background perform on tonight’s stage under the theme of the Passion of Swan, Chinese Dream.

Ladies and Gentlemen,

Chinese Dream is about pursuing strength of the country, rejuvenation of the nation and happiness of the people. Severely confronted by wars, climate change and public health crisis, the whole world now is eagerly dreaming of enduring peace and common prosperity. The Chinese Dream, a dream about peace, development, cooperation and win-win, is closely linked with the beautiful dreams of people in Australia and any other countries around the world.

The Chinese Dream, Australian Dream and dreams of other countries can always be pursued together. Supporting and helping each other along the way, we can make progress hand in hand in realizing our dreams. That is why President Xi Jinping put forward the important vision of creating a community of shared future for mankind.

Ladies and Gentlemen,

As you may have already noticed, with joint efforts of the two sides, China Australia relations have stabilized, improved and developed ever since President Xi Jinping met with PM Albanese in Bali, Indonesia last November. Our high level exchanges is gaining momentum and some of our trade issues have witnessed significant progress. Now both sides are working together to keep track of Prime Minister Albanese’s visit to China later this year, which will be the first by an Australian leader since 2016 and which will undoubtedly be another milestone of China Australia relations.

China and WA has a long lasting relationship. I have great confidence that with Premier Cook at the helm, China WA friendship will continue to flourish.

Dear friends,

Tonight’s show combines modern and classic Chinese songs, dances featuring different Chinese ethnic groups as well as Peking opera and traditional Chinese musical instrument Guzheng. I hope you will all enjoy.

Happy Birthday Mulan.

Thank you!
