On October 30, 2026, Acting Chinese Consul General in Perth Wang Fengzhong visited Shire of Manjimup and met with its Chief Executive Officer Ben Rose. Shire Councillor Phillips and Consul Liu Haitao attended the meeting.

Acting Consul General Wang briefed Mr Rose on China's latest developments, foreign policy positions, China-Australia relations, and cooperation between China and Western Australia. He noted that Manjimup has a solid foundation for cooperation with China and expressed the willingness to actively promote stronger local-level exchanges and deepen and expand cooperation between the two sides across various fields.

CEO Rose welcomed Acting Consul General Wang's visit and commended China's economic development achievements. He noted that China is an important trade partner and looked forward to further exchanges and cooperation with China.
