On 31st October 2026,  Acting Chinese Consul General in Perth Wang Fengzhong attended the Pink October Charity Dinner for Breast Cancer Awareness and delivered a speech. Ms. Sook Yee Lai MLA, Representing Premier Roger Cook; Ms Sandra Brewer MLA, representative of Leader of the Opposition; Mr. Bruce Reynolds, Lord Mayor of the City of Perth; Mr. Andy Yuan, President of Chung Wah Association; Ms. Lili Chen, President of Australia Chinese Women’s Business Association and more than 100 representation from various sectors were present.

Mr Wang introduced China’s achievements in breast cancer prevention and treatment, stated that the Charity Dinner not only reflects a shared consensus on breast cancer prevention and control, but also showcased the commitment of the compassionate public to charitable causes. He commended the WA Chinese community for their efforts to build a harmonious, inclusive, caring and multicultural society in WA.

Ms. Sook Yee Lai and others spoke highly of the Chinese community for their contributions to the development of charitable activities in Western Australia.
