Welcome Speech by Consul General Fu Lihua

Welcome to the website of the Consulate General of the People's Republic of China in Perth.

The Consulate General of China in Perth was established in 1994, with Western Australia as its consular district. As the Indian Ocean gateway of Australia, WA occupies one-third of the country's total land area. Rich in mineral resources, it serves as a major hub for trade and an engine for economic growth in Australia.

Local exchanges and cooperation form an important foundation for China-Australia relations. The economies of WA and China are highly complementary. For many years, China has been WA's largest trading partner, top export destination and biggest source of imports. The two sides have a solid foundation and broad prospects for practical cooperation across various fields.

It is a great honor to assume the role of the 11th Chinese Consul General in Perth. I will work alongside my colleagues in the Consulate General and friends from various sectors in the consular district to further broaden exchanges and deepen mutually beneficial cooperation between China and WA in various fields, and contribute to the steady and sustained growth of China-Australia comprehensive strategic partnership. 

We will uphold the principle of "diplomacy for the people", protect the legitimate rights and interests of Chinese citizens and institutions in accordance with law, and provide high-quality and efficient consular services to both Chinese and foreign citizens in WA.

It is our sincere hope that this website will serve as a window and platform for friends from various sectors in the consular district to learn about and explore China, and act as a bridge and bond for dialogue, exchanges and pursuit of cooperation opportunities between us.
